Bermuda Getaway – Hamilton Princess Stay

October 6, 2018

So where do I begin? My Bermuda trip was an absolute dream! What promised to be just a weekend getaway turned out to be one of my favorite trips of the summer! Bermuda stole my heart with its beautiful raw beaches, turquoise warm water, and unreal sunsets… and did I mention that it’s only a 2-hour flight away from New York?

Looking for accommodations in Bermuda wasn’t too hard. The island is quite small so there were not too many options if you have certain criteria. When I do lazy beach vacations I know that I’m going to spend most of the time in my hotel, so it has to be good…and when I say good I mean really good 🙂 Therefore, Fairmont Hamilton Princess (link) was a very easy choice to make.

The hotel is an absolute dream – everything starting from amenities to Jeff Koons art. What I loved the most about Fairmont Princess is the way its territory was organized. There is space and things to do for any type of traveler. Two pools (including the infinity pool), a spa, a gym, a yoga center, several restaurants and a beautiful marina, filled with luxurious yachts. But the pearl of the Hamilton Princess, in my opinion, is definitely the private beach. You take a little pink shuttle, which looks like a Barbie Doll car, and it takes you to the stunning, somewhat raw and untouched beach with powder white sand and warm, light blue water. The area has the restaurant, beach food service, hammocks, and the beautiful viewpoint that you can hike. We spent most of our time there, besides all the eating that we did there. Fairmont’s continental breakfasts were to die for…and desserts, desserts ah, don’t even get me started! We also had a beyond delicious dinner at the Marcus restaurant which is run by the infamous Marcus Samuelson. We got to meet the chef himself and learned more about his famous dishes. He is also a fellow New Yorker so it was fun to discuss his restaurants here in the city.

Last but not least, the staff at Hamilton Princess were nothing but attentive, genuine and friendly. You can tell they truly love their job and that makes the whole experience beyond wonderful. We were very sad to leave because not only did we have the most amazing time enjoying the hotel property but we also made so many friends. Bermudians are very kind people with open hearts.

My experience in Bermuda and Hamilton Princess exceeded my expectations. I fell in love with this magical place and want to be back there on regular basis (no, I’m not kidding I would totally buy a house there). So if you haven’t been yet, put this place on the top of your list!
